Featuring some views from the big wheel that tops Takashimaya in Matsuyama, and some lovely trams.
Not much more to say about Ehime except to say I bumped into Tadg Mc Loughlin there, which was odd. And I brought back a few bottles of the local microbrew Dogo, one of which I gave to Ted and the other two which I enjoyed myself. It turns out to be a nice sipping beer, the flavor seeming to improve the longer it’s exposed to the air, you can really take your time over it. Back in Kyoto, Ted invited me out for a very pleasant stroll around Fushimi Momoyama on Friday, finishing up at the Kizakura beer hall (or “beer heaven” as they so accurately label it). I was really impressed by the flavor of the kizakura beers. It’s a pity they aren’t more generally available. Ted has a short whisper about our walk up here. As he says the beers were enjoyed professionally as part of a series of mutual interviews we’ve been doing. Which reminds me I now have four interviews to write up. I think I shall avoid doing that by going to a spa today. Tomorrow David Ewen and I shall be embarking on a Deep Kyoto Kiyamachi bar crawl and on Friday I’ll be sweating out the booze at the dojo I (finally) joined yesterday.
One last thing, as I mentioned before, bubbleshare is soon to pop (stifled by recession & drowned by dread hand of Mickey Mouse) and I’ve been trying to find a replacement. I was hoping to avoid using a third party site to host my photos in future because – well the same thing could happen again couldn’t it? However, all the wordpress plugins I tried were… well shite basically. At this point dear old pal Rik Abel sent me the following:
I just bought you a 1-year Flickr Pro account! So stop
whingeing you twat!
You can embed slideshows and stuff, and have images in your
sidebar via flickrRSS etc… ask me if you need help innit.Which was very nice of him. Thanks Rik!
